Yes, I am spoiled!

SEASIDE THE DILEMMA

So as everyone probably knows we have been planning our big 2 week (yes I said 2 week) trip to Seaside. It has been 4 years since we have been there and we have long awaited our grandchildren playing on the beach and enjoying all that Seaside has to offer. Of course there has to be an oil spill. Yes I am being selfish because I know that a lot of people are out of work and the oil is affecting the marinelife and the beaches BUT I WANTED TO GO TO THE BEACH! So one minute I am optimistic and we are for sure going and the next I am frustrated. Today is a mixed bag. The stupid cap is off of the oil leak ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! We can go to the moon but we can't cap off an oil well.

Does anyone care that:
I have matching blue striped beach chairs for B&C
A blue and white striped table cloth for seafood night
I have two outfits for C to wear during our family photos on the beach
The kids divided into teams to make dinner
I want to spend time with C so I can get to know her better
Gpa Hunt has been planning for three years to roll in the sand with B
The girls are coming the second week
I moved mountains to find a house to rent and back up to the Wells summer vacation

Sorry for the pitty party.....just disappointed and not feeling very optimistic!

Looking forward to visiting Lil C and B

Can't wait to go to Indy to watch Lil C and B while Kyle celebrates her birthday. Then driving B back to St. Louis to spend time with Gma & Gpa. Lots of fun things planned. Baseball game, swimming and just hanging out. Can't wait.

We Love You Huntsie

Rogers brother Peter passed away. He will be missed. David said it best "Mom used to call us home for dinner: Mary, David, Roger, Peter, Tommy, Mickey, Anne. This time she called us home but changed up the order.

Law School

Andrew announced at Kyles Patio Building Party that he was accepted to SLU Law School. We are sooooo proud of him and know he will do a great job.

Catching Up!

I can't believe a month has passed with "no post". Time flies. Over Easter weekend Roger, Andrew and I went to DC and visited friends and did some sightseeing. It was really a great trip. We flew in on Good Friday and what a spectacular view. I made sure we sat on the left side of the plane so we could get a good view of the monuments flying in. When you fly in you can just feel the history surrounding you. We had lunch in Georgetown and walked the mall and saw the monuments that night. Beautiful warm weather and cherry blossoms in full bloom. Saturday we went to the American Indian museum had lunch and then were off to Arlington Cemetery. Roger had never seen the changing of the guard. It is quite impressive even though I have seen it several times. Saturday night was dinner with friends and Easter Sunday we headed for the History museum and a walk past the White House before heading back for some relaxation before flying home. Thanks to a good friend for letting us stay in her beautiful condo for the weekend and being our tour guide. Sorry we never got to die the easter eggs.

The next weekend we were off to Indy. I had a conference and Roger came along. Got to spend time with the grandchildren. Saturday night had dinner with the McCools (PJ, Kyle,B,C, Mike & Bell). We love Kyles in laws. The weather was great and we got to sit outside. It is becoming our tradition that when we visit, Brennan comes back to the hotel with us. Friday night it seemed he couldn't make up his mind. So Saturday night we took him with us. We have a ritual. Off to the hotel in "grandmas car". I love it when he calls it that. We walk into the room and he immediately says "mickey mouse" because he knows we can rent movies. Then he checks out the view at the big window. After that I sit him in the middle of the kingsize bed all propped up on pillows and he watches Mickey Mouse. I think it goes, Miska, Mooska, Mousketeer....or something like that. After that it's HGTV and we fall asleep. He loves to snuggle which of course I love and falls asleep holding my hand. During the waking hours he is all about "his" Grandpa, but at bedtime Grandma is his "go to". I think it is almost time for C to have her first sleepover at the hotel. I better sign them up for Marriott Rewards :) Pics will follow shortly.

Trip To Indy

Roger & I went to Indy for my birthday weekend and got to assist in the babysitting process for B&C while mom was away for a quick 24 hour "Girls Weekend" trip. We had a great time and Gpa Hunt took Brennan to soccer practice and Gma Hunt couldn't leave without buying the soccer attire. He looked sooooooooo cute. I will say I was not responsible for the hat. Then Gpa, PJ and Brennan enjoyed 5guys burgers for lunch and Campbell and I stayed home for a healthy lunch of carrots. Campbell had a slight fever and runny nose so dad didn't feel comfortable taking her out. She is so cute when she is sucking on her paci and the crawling. Makes my heart melt. Then we did a few things around the house to help mom and Gpa showed he could still multi task by making dinner and watching both kids. He enjoyed every minute. Like the dorky grandparents we are, all the way home we talked about all of the cute things the kids had done over the weekend and how much we already missed them and we weren't even halfway home...good thing they were in St. Louis the next weekend and got to spend Friday night with us. Can't wait until we see them again!

March Has Arrived

March has finally arrived and it is Birthday Month!
Another year older. How can that be. It is still so cold and I only have visions of tulips and spring. Flying into Roanoke, Virginia today and it is 32 degrees. Looking forward to heading to Indy this weekend to spend time with B & C. Can't wait. Hopefully the weather forecast will be right and we will have a warming trend so we can get outside and have some FUN!
